With a strong foundation in hospitality, Mariko made the decision in 2022 to transition into the Care industry — seeking a more meaningful and impactful career. She commenced as a Disability Support Worker, and through hands-on experience, discovered a deeper interest in the systems that support both clients and staff. This curiosity led her to a role in rostering at a not-for-profit organisation, where she was later given the opportunity to lead the team. Mariko notes “It’s a space where I’ve been able to combine empathy, structure, and leadership to ensure care services run smoothly and effectively”.
Outside of work, Mariko enjoys exploring nature through bushwalks with her partner and discovering new dining spots, always chasing good food and quiet moments.
